The HYPERMAG Center of Excellence has just enjoyed a three day visit by hyperpolarization colleagues from all over Europe.

HYPERMAG is a partner in the EUROPOL project, a pan-European strategic partnership of researchers in the field of physics and engineering of hyperpolarized Magnetic Resonance.

All EUROPOL collaborators meet once a year to present results and ongoing work network-wide in the consortium. This year the meeting was a three-day event hosted by HYPERMAG at DTU. All PhDs presented their work. Progress towards advancing the signal enhancement of hyperpolarization into high-impact applications for biophysical, metabolomic, pre-clinical and clinical research was discussed. And the whole group had a lab tour around HYPERMAG's unique facilities.

EUROPOL is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network, which has the education and employability of future researchers  as its core mission. 16 early stage researchers (PhD level) collaborate across the EUROPOL framework.  They enjoy a special customized training program provided by the different European research institutions that are EUROPOL partners, and they all spend time on longer-term research missions at one or more partner organizations, in order to experience different research environments, cultures and fields of expertise.

From HYPERMAG, PhD student Mohammed Albannay is directly involved in the project. In the course of the project, three or more PhD students from partner organisations will stay at HYPERMAG for 3-4 months in order to get hands-on supervision from our researcher team and perform experiments at our facilities. We look forward to also learn from them in return, expand our network and not least take our share of the hard work involved in educating the next generation of researchers in the promising field of hyperpolarization.
